Books are my only friends

A bit of commentary for the mid-week visitors.

I kid you not, I was really deppressed while I was drawing that last panel. “Books are my only friends” should’ve been just a one panel comic, because the original idea that made me chuckle was the second panel. I ran with it but I knew there was no logical punchline, and it took me a couple of days to finish the comic.

Heroin addiction can be funny (I was probably thinking of an old Mr. Show sketch when I came up with the ending) but, somehow, the actual drawing was sending me on a bad trip. I tried re-doing it in a goofier vein (heh), but eventually I realized that it had to be as horrible as possible. I now find it funny once again, but something tells me that most people don’t know what to make of it.

But hey, it’s the first comic I seriously think about making into a shirt.

Have a nice day guys.

Awesome comic man, you could make the whole thing into a shirt or just that last panel, which I think would get the message across and more people might read it. Television is definitely like heroin though, passive entertainment. Might as well put a bullet through your head.

Are you seriously comparing watching T.V. with herion addiction and “putting a bullet through your head”???

    SERIOUSLY?

I agree with lolwut. where’s the sense of scale here!?
A heroin addiction and a bullet through the head are quick solutions to the stupid problem, but TV ….man, there’s nothing you can do about that… It’s like AIDS.

For me it isn’t tv but the internet, that have seduced me away from the books.
